David Jones started off his musical journey studying classical piano for over ten years and trombone for eight years.  David picked up bass guitar at the urging of his best friend during his senior year of high school and played with area rock bands for a number of years.  He attended the Indiana University School of Music as a performance and composition major before leaving college to pursue bass guitar in a local rock band. Ultimately he left the local music scene to start a family.  David had no intention of gigging ever again until the same best friend dragged him back into music about six or seven years ago.  He was surprised to discover that he had missed performing live as much as he did.  They played in the same band together for a few years before they both moved on to better projects.

Musical genres from which David draws inspiration include:

  • Classical - all periods
  • Rock - all forms
  • Jazz
  • Motown
  • Metal
  • Blues
  • Country - nearly all eras
